Tonise R. Gardner has been in the haircare industry for over 31 years. She became a salon owner at 19 years old which serviced countless clients in her hometown of Savannah GA. Throughout her life she has battled with low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacies and landed in a traumatizing domestic abuse relationship; something she stated she would never experience. After going through the healing processes of abuse, she began connecting the dots of her experiences spiritually and desired to teach women and men the same. After realizing how those things we deem as negative or failures are there to teach us who we are she began to use her own insecurities about herself and experiences to teach, coach, motivate, and empower other people to know and own their power. After the birth of her daughter, she relocated to Charlotte, NC, and gained a large following before opening up her salon Serenity Image Consulting. A business that was created to enhance women’s self-esteem, self-worth, along with their entire outer image.
Her motto is “True Life, True Image, True Spirit” something she chooses to continuously strive for in her life. Her love for the arts and coordinating shows landed backstage a position as a production manager for the first Charlotte NC Fashion Week. Having a strong love for the arts like singing, acting, and writing Tonise performed in festivals, churches, and weddings with a resume of two plays“Walk In My Shoes and The First Lady”. She felt like more artists regardless of their expression, gifts or talents should have a platform to showcase them so she created “N’rich The Soul”, a production infused with performing arts. “All things Beauty”.
Nailyah Serenity is following in her Mother’s footsteps but is taking it to another level than her Mom. She is a singer, actress, songwriter, astrologist, and makeup artist making beautiful canvases on celebrities like “Angela Simmons” and a host of upcoming artists. Coming from a performing arts school from elementary to high school Nailyah’s talents have landed her in short films, musicals, and plays with a leading role as “Dorothy” twice in the “Wiz” with Porch Productions and BNJ Productions. Her middle name “Serenity”, is what her Mother named the business because she desires to leave a legacy for Nailyah to continue to build.
“Both my daughter and I do our best to understand who we are. We love exploring more aspects of ourselves and then in turn demonstrate that in all we do through healing and the arts”. Tonise R. Gardner
“My prayer is to decrease the ego and allow the essence of my spirit to inspire your life”
